Chiropractic Care

Improved Alignment, Improved Health

Doctors of Chiropractic are experts of the spine, muscles, joints and the nervous system. Chiropractors utilize their clinical expertise and knowledge to diagnose and work with you to determine a specific treatment plan.

BENEFITS OF CHIROPRACTIC CARE

1. Improves neck pain

Neck pain is a common problem, especially if you sit for many hours a day, frequently bend your neck to use your phone, or have poor posture. A chiropractor may help ease your neck pain by realigning your spine and easing tension in your neck muscles.

2. Eases back pain.

Chiropractic treatment may be a good alternative to more invasive alternatives like surgery or injections for treating short-term or chronic back pain.

3. Reduction of osteoarthritis symptoms

Osteroarthritis pain is caused by the degeneration of the cartilage in a joint that causes the ends of your bones to rub together. Some types of chiropractic adjustments may help align your joints and reduce how much your bones rub together.

4. Eases headache symptoms

After the initial assessment, Chiropractors will develop a treatment plan with you to help relieve/alleviate your pain, prevent it from returning and help restore and improve mobility.

5. Improve Posture

Undergoing chiropractic treatment may potentially help correct poor posture, especially if your poor posture is caused by too much sitting, standing, driving, working on computer, prolonged typing.

6. Enhance Athletic Performance

Spinal adjustments may potentially improve your athletic performance. This could be due to increased joint mobility, reduced pain, and less tissue restriction.

7. Reduces scoliosis symptoms

Chiropractic care may help improve the Cobb angle of people with scoliosis. The Cobb angle is a measurement of how much side-to-side deformity there is in the spine.

8.Relief of pregnancy related back pain

It is common to have back pain during pregnancy as the centre of gravity moves forward with growing belly and stress and strain comes directly on the lumbar spine. Chiropractic adjustment can improve the posture and maintain the alignment throughout the course of pregnancy to keep lower back at ease.

9. Prevent work related muscle injuries

With ongoing chiropractic care, your muscles and joints stay in alignment to prevent you from muscle injuries.

10. Reduced dependence on medication

Because chiropractic care can relieve many types of pain without surgery, it can significantly reduce a person's reliance on drugs. In fact, an estimated more than 90 % of people with chronic back pain can be treated non-surgically.

11. Better mood

Traditionally, mood swings or depression have been treated with medication. However, that route can be expensive and may still carry a social stigma. Chiropractic adjustments improve the nervous system, which can repair the chemical imbalance that often leads to mood swings. By clearing obstacles in our nerves, chiropractic care can also help us think more clearly.

Chiropractors will utilize multiple treatments and techniques depending on the patient's needs.

Treatments include:

  • Soft tissue therapy
  • Manipulation/adjustment
  • Electrotherapy such as ultrasound
  • Therapeutic stretches and exercises
  • Self-management tools and techniques
  • education

Manipulation

Manipulations or adjustments are a treatment that Chiropractors utilize. This involves putting motion into the segments of your spine and/or other joints in the body. In order to perform an adjustment, a Chiropractor will apply a controlled impulse into the joint and help move it through the joint's range of motion. This action helps to restore motion in joints and improve their function.

What to expect at your first Chiropractic appointment.

At your first appointment, you will be asked to fill out paperwork describing your condition and any other health issues that you are experiencing. The Chiropractor will review and discuss this information with you. A thorough physical examination of your condition related to the appointment will be performed to determine a diagnosis in order to provide a recommendation for treatment. With your agreement, treatment will begin.

What to expect at a follow-up appointment.

At your follow-up appointment, the Chiropractor will discuss how you are progressing and if there have been any changes in your condition. If necessary, they will make adjustments to the treatment plan.

What to expect at a re-evaluation.

The Chiropractor will perform tests that were administered at previous examinations to determine how the condition is progressing and if changes are required to be made to the treatment plan. The Chiropractor will then treat you according to the updated treatment plan.
